Queenstown, New Zealand is known as the adrenalin capital of New Zealand.

There is something to do all year around with it being a lake and alpine resort. Surrounded by majestic mountains and nestled on the shores of the crystal clear Lake Wakatipu there really is something for everyone.

There is a wide variety of activities in Queenstown – so much so that you could probably spend two weeks here and still not see everything you should! From Bungy Jumping to mini golf, a cruise on the lake or a jet boat ride down the river, what ever you choose you can guarantee you will have stunning views, breathtaking vistas and friendly people surrounding you.

There are numerous great walks surrounding the town – the Routeburn Track starts (or finishes!) about an hour from Queenstown in a little place called Glenorchy. The Routeburn Track is a must do for all avid hikers, take your time or do it in a day (There is an event where people do just this and run it in a day!).

Glenorchy is also home to a place called Paradise. Here, Peter Jackson filmed more of his beloved trilogy, The Lord of the Rings. Go for a visit and you will see why he chose it.

There are numerous ski fields in the vicinity too, with two fields being less then 45 mins drive from the centre of town to the top of the field. For the ultimate in mid winter parties head to Queenstown during the Queenstown Winter Festival. Its a week long party celebrating all things winter.

Speaking of parties – the nightlife in Queenstown is also well known. There are numerous bars, clubs, restaurants and more. Our recommendation? Check out the Ice Bar! Everything is made out of ice! Don’t worry you do get given a big thick jacket to keep you warm while you sip on an ice cold cocktail.
